The three basic types of pool cleaners
Basically, there are three types of pool cleaners. The pressure side cleaner works through water pressure. It has a replaceable filter bag that traps dirt and debris. The suction side cleaner is the most common type found in pools today. The third type, robotic or electric cleaners, must be plugged into an electrical outlet to work. They have a self-contained pump and filtering system. Dirt is trapped with an internal filter.

The length of time depends on the starting temperature of the water, the size of your hot tub, and the power of your water heater. A 220-volt model will heat the water up faster.
